Both scanners have the same ids. <a
|
|
href="http://fuchur.dynup.net/pic/scanner-tevion-md40420">Here</a> is more
|
|
information and some photos about the 40420. The scanners <a
|
|
href="http://www.microtek.com.sg/Product.php?Product=Detail&P_Id=71&Kword=4900&Select=All&FirstData=0">look
|
|
similar to the Microtek 4900</a>. Other reports indicate that it's similar
|
|
to the <a
|
|
href="http://www.microtekeurope.com/Product.php?ThisPage=&Product=Detail&P_Id=118">Microtek
|
|
5800</a> because that scanner has USB2 while the 4900 has only USB
|
|
1.1 and the 5800 comes with TA. The USB ids are not identical in both cases, however.
|

/proc/bus/usb/devices</em> (for USB scanners) can help. If you dare to
|
|
open the scanner, have a look at the text that's printed on the
|
|
chips. That may help to identify the chipset. If you know that the
|
|
scanner is similar to another one (e.g. supported by the same Windows
|
|
driver), please also mention this fact.
