Hi,

If it was Mustek 1200 UB compatible, the vendor would be 0x055f and

> I have sane 1.0.4 installed.

and the Mustek 1200UB backend?

> scanimage -L says "no SANE devices found".

> Running "strace scanimage -L says" reveals that /dev/usbscanner

> /dev/usbscanner is linked to /dev/usbscanner0, which is device

Probabaly the kernel scanner driver couldn't detect/attach the

> These are the syslog entries:

> minor data

>

> Any hints?

The scanner module doesn't seem to be able to manage this scanner.
However, I don't know which additional endpoints the scanner supports.
Probabaly it's the best thing to contact one of the usb mailing lists
or the dveleoper of the Linux scanner module.

> Is this really a sane problem (no backend found) or some

> misconfiguration within the usb layer?

The scanner module seems to be the problem. However, I'm not suer if
the 1200UB backend will work when the scanner is detected correctly by
the scanner module.

Bye,
