<P>I followed a suggestion from this list to update to a newer version of sane to
|
|
<BR>
|
|
be able to use the "transparency option" of my ACER Prisa 620ST (Snapscan) on
|
|
<BR>
|
|
my Linux box.
|
|
<BR>
|
|
<P>Well, I downloaded the latest stable backend and frontend from mostang and got
|
|
<BR>
|
|
the following results:
|
|
<BR>
|
|
<P>1. Backend compiles and installs trouble-free on my SuSE 6.4
|
|
<BR>
|
|
<P>2. Frontend does NOT compile. It mentions something with a new GTK which
|
|
<BR>
|
|
has to be installed... =8-O
|
|
<BR>
|
|
<P>I highly recommend to place ready-to-use rpm's on the server. This will
|
|
<BR>
|
|
simplify the whole installation procedure a lot.
|
|
<BR>
|
|
<P>Besides: I could NOT get the new frontend working until now. Could somebody,
|
|
<BR>
|
|
please, leave me instructions for getting it work?
|
|
<BR>
|
|
<P>I am running SuSE 6.4, kernel 2.2.14 on my workstation.
