<P>In my experience, if Xsane is installed properly, it should see the same devices
|
|
<BR>
|
|
that scanimage -L sees, for example, snapscan:/dev/sgx, or snapscan:/dev/scanner
|
|
<BR>
|
|
if you created it as a link to your scanner device. Try xscanimage and see if
|
|
<BR>
|
|
scanning works with it. On RH7 it should be installed as a gimp plugin, or may
|
|
<BR>
|
|
work from the command line. Also, you may need to enable debugging by setting
|
|
<BR>
|
|
the environment variable SANE_DEBUG_SNAPSCAN=128 to see what's going on. Other
|
|
<BR>
|
|
issues that people run into are ownership and file permissions, etc.
