it looks like this behaviour depends on the firmware version of the Vista T630.
|
|

<P>Please try the following:

|
remove sane-backends from your system,
|
|
<BR>
|
|
get sane-backends-1.0.4 source package
|
|
<BR>
|
|
./configure
|
|
<BR>
|
|
vi backend/Makefile and add to CPPFLAGS = ...
|
|
<BR>
|
|
-DUMAX_SPEED_SELECTABLE
|
|
<BR>
|
|
<P>then compile and install sane-backends
|
|
<BR>
|
|
<P>You now get the advanced options "slow speed" and "smear".
|
|
<BR>
|
|
Try what happens if you enable "slow speed"
|
|
<BR>
|
|
<P><P>Please tell me the firmware version of your scanner.
