<P>I think the documentation (manpage of scanimage) is not got at

the point, it does not explain at all how [DEVICE] looks like,
|
|

it only tells you how you can get a list of available devices.

<P>We also should change the output of scanimage -h:

<P>-d, --device-name=DEVICE use a given scanner device
|
|

The format of DEVICE is backendname:devicefile (e.g. umax:/dev/scanner).

<P>In the manpage of xscanimage it is described correct, the output of

xscanimage -h also should be changed like for scanimage.
