<P><EM>> Hi - I have just installed SANE 1.0.2 from a tarball. The install seemed to go

<EM>> OK - at least no problems were reported. I did the usual ./configure,

<EM>> make, make install routine. However, when I type 'scanimage --list-devices'

<EM>> the disk spins and then I'm returned to the prompt with no devices showing -

<P>PNM is deactivated in dll.conf by default in SANE 1.0.2.

<P>Did you check if your SCSI driver works and the scanner is found

(tools/find-scanner and cat /proc/scsi/scsi)? Did you set the right

|
permissions for the /dev/sg* device? Maybe you will get some output when you
|
|
<BR>
|
|
set the debug variable SANE_DEBUG_HP (see man sane-hp).
|
|
