<P>Hi Bob,
<BR>
<P>although I´m not a programmer like some others here, I want to give you a statement
<BR>
about my experiences.
<BR>
Im using a AGFA snapscan 1236(s) with the encluded scsi-Adapter (AVA1505).
<BR>
After a hard time with installing it (mostly my faults, better should habe
<BR>
read the manualpages) I´m very happy with it now. The scans look really good
<BR>
and there were only a few hangs of the device while scanning.
<BR>
All problems could be solved by reinitialising the scsi-Adapter (reload the
<BR>
module by shell-script). I tried xsane and xscanimage and both are o.k. In my
<BR>
opinion the coloured preview in xsane is better than the grey one in
<BR>
xscanimage. I want to use both as a plug-in in gimp and hope this will be
<BR>
possible with xsane too.
<BR>
<P>I hope this information will help you.
