<!-- body="start" -->
<P>
Hi!
<BR>
<P>I am using xsane 0.35 and sane-1.0.1
<BR>
<P>When I start a color scan, the scanner first reads the &quot;red&quot;-data. Then the
<BR>
scanner starts the second pass for &quot;green&quot;, eventhough the progress-bar hasn't
<BR>
reach its end.
<BR>
The progressbar for &quot;green&quot; doesn`t show anything and the following error pops
<BR>
up: &quot;Error during read: Error during device I/O&quot;
<BR>
Then it starts reading the red data again and again...
<BR>
<P>What's happening?
<BR>
This scanner works fine with Arno Augustin's Xscan - and it worked on my old
<BR>
2.0.x Linux with sane-0.7x.
<BR>
<P>sane-0.7x doesn't work anymore now.
<BR>
<P>Here the details of my system:
<BR>
Kernel 2.2.15
<BR>
I changed in /usr/src/linux/include/scsi/sg.h
<BR>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;#define SG_BIG_BUFF 32768
<BR>
to
<BR>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;#define SG_BIG_BUFF 130560
<BR>
and the same in /usr/include/scsi/sg.h
<BR>
<P>as module: SCSI-Driver 53c7,8xx (I have a SymbiosLogic 810 PCI, which doesn't
<BR>
work with the ncr53c800 module)
<BR>
The options are
<BR>
always negotiate synchr. transfer (N)
<BR>
allow FAST-SCSI (N)
<BR>
allow DISCONNECT (N)
<BR>
<P>Generic SCSI is compiled in
<BR>
<P>There is also an CD-Writer an a ZIP-drive on the scsi-adapter
<BR>
<P>&quot;cat /proc/scsi/scsi&quot; tells me:
<BR>
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 04 Lun: 00
<BR>
&nbsp;&nbsp;Vendor: PHILIPS Model: CDD3600 CD-R/RW Rev: 2.00
<BR>

<BR>
&nbsp;&nbsp;Vendor: MUSTEK Model: MFS-06000CX Rev: 2.71
<BR>
&nbsp;&nbsp;Type: Scanner ANSI SCSI revision: ffffffff
<BR>
<P>/var/log/messages tells me
<BR>
kernel: scsi0 : target 4 accepting asynchronous SCSI
<BR>
kermit kernel: scsi0 : setting target 4 to asynchronous SCSI
<BR>
kermit kernel: Vendor: PHILIPS Model: CDD3600 CD-R/RW Rev: 2.00
<BR>
kermit kernel: Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02
<BR>
kermit kernel: Detected scsi CD-ROM sr0 at scsi0, channel 0, id 4, lun 0
<BR>
kermit kernel: Vendor: MUSTEK<45><4B> Model: MFS-06000CX<43><58><EFBFBD><EFBFBD><EFBFBD> Rev: 2.71
<BR>

<BR>
kermit kernel: sr0: scsi3-mmc drive: 2x/6x writer cd/rw xa/form2 cdda tray
<BR>
<P>I hope this is a known and easy to solve problem.
<BR>
I am trying now for a couple days to solve it on my own - but without any
<BR>
success.
<BR>
<P>Thank you for any help,
<BR>
<P>Christian
