> --> Yes. But it's a weird semi-plug-and-play card, and I couldn't get
> using.
You need to disable the plug-and-play'ness, using a DOS executable that is
normally supplied with it (I think it's also available on Agfa's website,
or maybe Adaptec's). There are a few tricks to getting it all going; I've
been writing a mini-howto'ish document, but have been too lazy to polish
it enough so it's actually worth publishing. Hopefully I will do that soon
:-). Feel free to nag me if I don't.
Re the Snapscan 1236s, I've been quite happy with mine, once I got over
the initial hurdles of making it work at all. The picture quality and
speed are both very acceptable. Problems people are having might be
related to getting the SCSI card working, or perhaps there are different
versions of the firmware. All I know is that the version I have works
fine. I've used it on Linux kernel 2.2.5 and 2.2.12. So I don't think
Kevin needs to get too alarmed about his backend not supporting it - it
looks to me like it does.
