> I've been trying to get SANE up and running on my Redhat 6 system with
> a Umax Astra 610S scanner and a futuredomain-based SCSI card. The
> SCSI card works fine with my CD burner. The scanner has worked fine
> on other systems (including with SANE) in the past.
>
> I have a symlink from /dev/scanner to /dev/sg1, the correct device.
>
> With previous attempts to configure SANE, "scanimage --list-devices"
> found and identified the scanner fine, but xscanimage segfaulted. I
> attributed this to the binary RPM I was using, and tried rebuilding
> from source. With the source build (and with the binary RPM I'm
> currently trying), "scanimage -L" itself segfaults.
>
> Every build I've tried has been of sane 1.0.1. Since I haven't added
> debugging flags yet, gdb'ing the core dump just gives me a backtrace
> of:
> (gdb) where
> #0 strcmp (p1=0x80aadb4 "/dev/sga",
> p2=0x6167732f <Address 0x6167732f out of bounds>)
> at ../sysdeps/generic/strcmp.c:39
> #1 0x401fd2dc in sanei_hp_device_info_get ()
>
> which may not be helpful. I'm hoping that this is a recognizable
> problem with a known fix, but if it isn't and anyone could use better
> debugging info, let me know.
>
Hi Roy,
