> I hope the calculation time for the color space correction
> is sufficient low that we can do it faster than the
> scanning so will not slow it down.

I was thinking, the coeffs need be calculated only once for each
filmtype. So the user can provide a sufficiently contrasty slide
or neg with a sufficient amount of colors, calibrate on that and
save it as a profile. Btw, the calibration can be done on the preview
image.
> Can (or will) your programm read 16*3 Bit color images,
> display them, allow the application of a LUT and save the resulting
> image to a 8-Bit file?

Yes my frontend does this already, together with 3x3 color correction
and some other color matrices for color saturation and stuff. Next
thing will be unsharp masking.

> I will continue implementing the color correction and the dust-removal
> in the backend (and in a plugin).
> When it is done and we find another scanner that makes
> use of it, we can easily extract it and move it to a frontend.

Ok, I wish the best of luck with it!
