> umax 1220S
> It is the cheapest ( 100 $ or 100 euro in France bought last week)
> But, nothing is perfect, I get the Umax with a old db25 connector.
> It is OK for the Umax card, but the Tekram 310 card have the new
> connector scsi .
> --> Watch out the connector ;-)

The two 25 pin connectors on the Astra 1220S are not nice.
But the only problem I know about is to get a 25 pin terminator
in some countries.
> Susette:/home/moi # find-scanner
> find-scanner: found scanner "UMAX Astra 1220S V1.3" at device /dev/sg1
> Which is the good one ? :-) sgb I suppose ?
>

Both, SUSE has created the /dev/sg[0-9] abd the /dev/sg[a-?]
device files. in fact sgb is the same as sg1

> Thank you for the anwser, and excuse the poor english of a french medical
> My next challenge is to use : sane-umax-1.0.1-build-8.tar.gz
