arghh.

Ok I compiled support for my host adapter into my kernel instead of a module
and it is detected at boot time

dmesg gives

aha152x: processing commandline: ok
aha152x: BIOS test: passed, detected 1 controller(s)
aha152x0: vital data: PORTBASE=0x340, IRQ=11, SCSI ID=7, reconnect=enabled,
parity=enabled, synchronous=disabled, delay=100, extended translation=disabled
aha152x: trying software interrupt, ok.
scsi0 : Adaptec 152x SCSI driver; $Revision: 1.7 $
scsi : 1 host.
Vendor: ULTIMA Model: AT6 Rev: 1.01
Type: Scanner ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Detected scsi generic sga at scsi0, channel 0, id 1, lun 0
scsi : detected total.

Does that look correct?

this all matches the jumpers on my card, which is a Adaptec 1520A.

Also do I need to tell sane/linux what lun my scanner is on? I have it set to 1
on the back of the scanner.

There is a guy listed on the sane-artec page listed as using an AT6 and in a
mail form him he said it just worked so Im thinking that maybe its either a
problem with my card/config/or kernel version which is 2.3.5.

So if any of you can help I really would appreciate as my scanner is about the
biggest thing keeping windows alive on my desktop and I would verymuch so like
to reclaim the diskspace.

Thanks
Brian B.
