Hello,

I recently bought this scanner, in hopes of getting it working correctly
with SANE. Well, it works, the output seems to be perfectly good in all
modes I tried, but it is incredibly slow. Every operation takes about 20
times of that in *ahem* windows, on the same configuration.
I still use the supplied DTC3181 SCSI card, but got the interrupt
working with soldering the PNP/PNR jumper into PNP mode.

Also modified /usr/include/scsi/sg.h to
#define SG_SCATTER_SZ (32 * 4096)
(this seems to be the new name for SG_BIG_BUFF in kernel 2.2.9 I'm
using)

Sane version is 1.0.1. I can't think of anyhting else to make it scan
faster. Below is an excerpt from the debug output of scanimage. There is
about an 8 sec. pause between every 14 lines of data.....

Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Laszlo
