No, I'm not saying that one exists. I'm just testing the level of interest<br>
in such a thing.<br>
<p>
I was thinking about the WinSANE idea and it occurred to me that a properly<br>
designed Java bean that implements the NET backend functionality (just<br>
protocol negotiation; not lowlevel device interaction) could be leveraged in<br>
SO many ways. The most interesting use of it to me right now would be a<br>
scan GUI ala xscanimage used in conjunction with a TWAIN interface accessing<br>
the bean through JNI, but obviously the reuse possibilities of such a thing<br>
are limitless (an ImageProducer abstraction of SANE; RMI access to these<br>
images; a SANE ORB; yadda, yadda, yadda).<br>
