An updated pre-test is available as:

ftp://ftp.mostang.com/pub/sane/alpha/sane-pre1.01-2.tar.gz

the diff relative to 1.00 is called sane-1.00-pre1.01.diff.gz in that
same directory.

This pre-test has the latest HP backend, Andreas' fixes to the Mustek
600 II N backend, his new mustek600iin-off tool and "configure
--disable-shared" should work again.

If you care about having SANE build cleanly on platforms other than
stock Red Hat 5.2, please do test this pre-release. I hope to make a
new official release soon.
