When writing the Canon backend I took the existing Umax and Mustek<br>
|

backends as models. They are quite complete and well-written. They are<br>
|
||
also quite extensive: you don't need all those details for a first<br>
|
||
version.<br>

Do start coding and test, test, test. Take one step at a time. Have lots<br>
