I downloaded and compiled SANE 1.0 on my FreeBSD 2.2.6 system.
I have a HP scanjet 6200c, which is supported, right? When the
system boots, the SCSI card is found (adaptec 1520) then it assigns
uk0 to the scanner so thats the device I specified in hp.conf:

/dev/uk0

and in dll.conf, just:

hp

Configuration should be done at this point, no?

When I attempt to run "scanimage -L" it doesn't report any devices. If
its off, the system will hang, or sometimes the kernel will panic, with
an error in the aic driver when the scanner's in sleep mode. It
has no on/off switch as its energy star compliant so I can't just turn it
on. I guess it just sleeps if you leave it idle, then awakens when it
needs to scan something for you.

Errm... I don't have a clue as to what the problem might be. Something
wrong with the aic driver on fbsd? Something I forgot to configure? A
bug in SANE? ...

If anyone has any ideas about this please respond.

thanks for your time!
