Hallo Bruno!

BS> Since you are not using autoconf and gnu, did you make a separate set
BS> of makefiles for sane os/2 ? how did you build it ?

I don't know what the original poster did, but as for me: I tried to use ash
and OS/2 autoconf to configure sane 0.74 for OS/2. Even after using autoconf, I
had to fix quite some things in the configure script before it worked; took me
about a days work. Finally, i managed to run configure without error message,
and after removing the qcam and dc25 drivers from the backend makefile, I was
even able to run make and got a scanimage.exe. I did not yet take the time to
figure out where I have to place which files to make it work (presently, it
only prints somethink like "sane_start: invalid argument", and does not find
the microtek2 device although I think I configured it).

Given this experience, I still do not have the slightest clue on how to create
the libsane.dll which I need to run Scaniage/2 or PMSANE. A grep for \.dll in
all the files did not show a single match.

I think it is hardly feasible to call this thing "available for OS/2" if it
takes three days to configure and compile it and it still doesn't work.

So - could you please make the makefiles that work and have been used to
compile sane 0.72 for OS/2 available? Or alternatively, could you please make a
binary libsane.dll available? I, and I suspect quite some others, would be very
greatful.

Viele Gr<47><72>e,
Tobias

P.S.: I have no problems running sane 0.74 with my Microtek 630 on FreeBSD
using the official FreeBSD port - but I'd really like to use it on OS/2
instead.
