Hi Paul,

The designation "parallel-port scanner" is misleading in this context.
The "parallel-port" driver in the Mustek backend by now only supports
the 600 II N, which comes with a special I/O card. (NOT attachable to
what most people call the parallel port: the printer connector !)

If you want, SCSI is also nothing but a byte-parallel interface.

I don't know if any other printer-port scanners are supported by now.

Regards,

Andreas.
> Hi,
>
> I just read through the section of your website that deals with the
> Mustek drivers, and it states:
> "A parallel port scanner can be configured by listing the port
> number of the adapter in the mustek.conf file. Valid port numbers are
> 0x26b, 0x2ab, 0x2eb, 0x22b, 0x32b, 0x36b, 0x3ab, 0x3eb. Pick one that
> doesn't conflict with the other hardware in your computer."
>
> Does this mean what I think it means? Or are you referring to the Mustek
> Paragon 600 II N scanner???
>
> I ask because I also read that this scanner comes with its own card
> which is not really a parallel nor a SCSI port. I'd really like to know
> if in v.0.73 parallel port scanners are supported.
>
> Thanks in advance,
