Hi Oliver,

I have it running, finally. Simply removing everything did not work. A friend
of mine mentioned that yast puts libs in unusual places. So I used to remove
the old files and reinstalled everything the way you mentioned it. Now my
snapscan works fine.

Thanks,

Joerg
> Hi Joerg,
>
> > I did as you told me. Everything compiled although I did see some error
> > messages during make. Finally, I can run xscanimage and it recognizes my
> > scanner.
> > Unfortunately, when I tried to scan my first image it crashed with the
> > following error message: can't resolve image 'gtk_tooltips..'
> > Before that, I did follow Ulrich's instructions. I did change the lines in
> > gtkglue.c and everything compiled (with some errors although) leaving me
> > with an xscanimage that ran too but crashed with the above message.
>
> Please use the unchanged file!
>
> Look at /usr/local/include
> and /usr/include
> if you find something of the following
> gck/ gdk/ glib.h gtk/ libgimp/ sane/
>
> in both directories, then you have to remove all that and all the libs from
> gimp/gtk/sane and reinstall everything!
> In the Mail to Rob on the mailling-list I explained how to do this!
>
> Bye
