I just did and had no problems; in fact, everything works GREAT. My<br>
|
|
setup is exactly the same as yours execpt I have an E6. Two important<br>
|
|
things: you must upgrade your gtk, and probably glibc. gtk+ 1.0.0 was<br>
|
|
just released. Since you have RH, you can do all this with rpm... very<br>
|
|
nice. So, get glibc-2.0.7 from a redhat site (in the upgrades<br>
|
|
directory), gtk+ and gimp from, say, <a href="ftp://s9412a.steinan.ntnu.no/pub/gimp">ftp://s9412a.steinan.ntnu.no/pub/gimp</a><br>
|
|
(this guy has the latest gimp & gtk stuff rpm-ized right after the new<br>
|
|
versions are out, he is very cool, you might want to bookmarks this<br>
|
|
sucker ;) and of course get the lastest SANE rpms from a redhat site<br>
|
|
(e.g., <a href="ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/contrib/hurricane/i386">ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/contrib/hurricane/i386</a>). You will<br>
|
|
probably need to rpm --erase your old gimp first, or do a --force because <br>
|
|
of a dependency on a specific older version of gtk.<br>
|
|

SANE is great! And it keeps me SANE by not having to boot into that<br>
|
|
other shitty OS to scan.<br>
