On an Alpha, this typically happens because of non-finite arithmetic<br>
|
|
(division by zero, operations on NaNs, etc.). This may be either<br>
|
|
because a floating variable did not get initialized before used or<br>
|
|
because the code really attempts to make use of non-finite arithmetic.<br>
|
|
The latter should be avoided in SANE software because, for<br>
|
|
portabilities sake, it should not assume support for IEEE non-finite<br>
|
|
arithmetic.<br>
|
|
