Brian> Hi. My name is Brian Knox, and I'm a Network Engineer by day,
Brian> Linux maniac by night. A friend and I are working on
Brian> designing a system for live web broadcast that would run
Brian> entirely on Linux.

Sounds interesting!

Brian> I'm contacting you because I felt the sane project was
Brian> working on things that were probably the most closely related
Brian> to this sort of equipment. I thought someone there might be
Brian> capable of handling this, or would be in contact with someone
Brian> who could. Perhaps it could all be integrated with SANE?

That certainly would be good and welcome. As for myself, I'm tied up
in too many free software projects already, so I can't offer much
help. However, I'd be happy on working with others to make sure SANE
provides the features necessary for such a project (I certainly hope
most of it is there already, but you never know...).

Brian> If we can get the drivers ported, I'm sure there are people
Brian> who would love to write apps to use them (video
Brian> capture/editing in the GIMP, anyone?). Plus, if we can get
Brian> the drivers ported and prove their is a Linux market, and had
Brian> Digital Domain backing us up some, we could potentially get
Brian> adobe to port Premiere.

If Daryll is behind it, it's got to be a success---I just hope he
isn't going to sink _another_ big ship! ;-)
