Hello! I have bought HP 4P ScanJet, but I can't get my Adaptec 2940U
SCSI-adapter to find it. There's nothing else on the SCSI bus expect
the scanner.
I compiled Linux 2.0.33 with this setup:

SCSI support
<M> SCSI support
<M> SCSI generic support
[*] Verbose SCSI error reporting (kernel size +=12K)

SCSI low-level drivers
<M> Adaptec AIC7xxx support
[ ] Enable tagged command queueing
[ ] Override driver defaults for commands per LUN
[ ] Enable SCB paging
[*] Collect statistics to report in /proc
(15) Delay in seconds after SCSI bus reset

Then usual kernel and module installation and rebooting.

As rebooting, the Adaptec does not report about any devices.

And inserting modules after boot:
[root@numb temp]# insmod scsi_mod that's fine
[root@numb temp]# insmod sg that's too
[root@numb temp]# insmod aic7xxx goes in, but doesn't
report anything
So it doesn't probably find anything. Then
[root@numb temp]# cat /proc/scsi/aic7xxx/0
Adaptec AIC7xxx driver version: 4.1.1/3.2.1
Compile Options:
AIC7XXX_RESET_DELAY : 15
AIC7XXX_TAGGED_QUEUEING: Disabled
AIC7XXX_PAGE_ENABLE : Disabled
AIC7XXX_PROC_STATS : Enabled

Adapter Configuration:
SCSI Adapter: Adaptec AHA-294X Ultra SCSI host adapter
(AIC-788x chipset)
Host Bus: Single
Base IO: 0xd800
Base IO Memory: 0xe3800000
IRQ: 11
SCBs: Used 1, HW 16, Page 16
Interrupts: 20
Serial EEPROM: True
Extended Translation: Disabled
SCSI Bus Reset: Enabled
Ultra SCSI: Disabled
Disconnect Enable Flags: 0xff

Statistics:

And
[root@numb temp]# cat /proc/scsi/scsi
Attached devices: none

So what could be wrong?
