I'd also like to thank the SANE developers.<br>

I'm also the owner of a UMAX Astra 1200S Scanner, which is on it's own SCSI<br>
|
|
card in my machine (It's a SIIG SCSI controller, I've also used it on my<br>
|
|
other Adaptec controller with the same results). I've encountered similar<br>
|
|
problems but haven't had the time to look at the code to see if I can<br>
|
|
figure out what's going on, but I figure this would be a good time to mention<br>
|
|
them.<br>

I have a similar experience, except that the 'junk' tends to just be 'white'<br>
|
|
for me. The amount of it seems to be dependent upon the scan resolution such<br>
|
|
that I suspect there's a fixed number of 'junk data bytes' that are being<br>
|
|
interpreted by the scanner driver as an appropriate number of lines. This<br>
|
|
junk also sometimes plays havoc with the options to set length of scan when<br>
|
|
making low-resolution scans [It stops early]. I find things get REALLY bad<br>
|
|
if I use the options for narrowing the width of the scanned image, so I avoid<br>
|
|
using them.<br>

PS. Right now I'm not the very latest version of SANE, i'm one behind.<br>
|
|
I will be upgrading this coming weekend. However, since someone else<br>
|
|
is experiencing the same problem with 0.67 I think it's safe to assume<br>
|
|
it hasn't been fixed yet.<br>
