Hi!

First of all I must thank all developers of SANE for a lovely scanner
interface. I have with success used it together with a HP 4c, but since
that scanner only was a loan from my job I bought a Umax Astra 1200S.
Here is the exact specification of my equipment: Umax Astra 1200S Rev V1.3
and a "AdvanSys SCSI 2.0: ISA PnP 16 CDB: BIOS C800" SCSI card. I'm using
Gimp v0.99.15 and GTK 971025 with Linux 2.0.30, and SANE 0.67 with Umax
diff.

The problem is that the scanned image has it's top filled with "junk" -
black stripes and dots. It's the same with the preview. Half the page is
filled with "junk" after which the real top of the scanner bed appears.
This was not the case with the HP scanner. The question is naturally if
there is something I can do to fix it.

Sincerely Olof S Kylander

PS there were no errors reported when I enabled debuging. It was simply a
lot of info, I can send it but I thought it was a bit to big for a mailing
list. We have not tested the scanner under Windoze since we don't like to
use a OS from the evil empire.
