Just today I dowloaded sane .65. I have had many of the previous versions<br>
|
|
so I deleted all of the /usr/local/lib/libsane* files just to clean up a<br>
|
|
bit. Then I went ahead and compiled and installed sane. When I tried to<br>
|
|
start xscanimage an error message about not being able to load<br>
|
|
libsane.so.0 came up. What I did (I'm not sure this is the correct way of<br>
|
|
doing it) was to symbolically link libsane.so libsane.so.0<br>
|
|

|
|
ln -s /usr/local/lib/libsane.so /usr/local/lib/libsane.so.0<br>
|
|
<p>
|
|
and re-ran ldconfig. xscanimage came up fine. I don't know if this is a<br>
|
|
problem with configure not making the Makefile correctly or what not but I<br>
|
|
figured I would post this here and maybe someone will know how to fix it<br>
|
|
for another release... (That is if it is really a problem and not just me)<br>
|
|

Just in case this is distribution specific I am running Debian GNU/Linux<br>
|
