>> Would you be interested in fixing the decipoint vs. pixel problem
>> that exists on the 5p? (The 4c can handle both command types.)

Sascha> I don=B4t know if I know enough about SCSI programming,
Sascha> because I have never done that, although I realy want to
Sascha> start with it now (I want to get access to the Plextor and
Sascha> my CD-Burner). Perhaps you know something nice that can be
Sascha> used as a tutorial (some easy to read code or some text
Sascha> info).

The SCSI-Programming Howto is pretty good. But frankly, you'd hardly
have to know anything about SCSI programming. That part is all nicely
isolated in the sanei_scsi_cmd() function. Just looking at the HP
backend should illustrate how simple it really is.

Sascha> I definitely want to extend the GTK-Interface, because that
Sascha> is what I know about. Some entries to enter the exact values
Sascha> (dpi etc) will be the first step. Furthermore I would like
Sascha> to define a template machanism like that of the Windows
Sascha> software, but of course without to be forced to use that.

Yes, I had this in my TODO list for a while now:

=09- xscanimage: provide both scale and textentry for ranges

I think the best way to do it would be to create a scale/text-entry
combo-widget (this is functionality that will be useful to other gtk
apps as well). I probably won't get to it anytime soon, though.

What is the "template mechanism" you are referring to?
