Hello Folks..

I've been spending a heck of a lot of time trying to get Sane-0.57 up and
running with my BW Quickcam..

Is this yet possible ? I've dug through the mail list archives and have
seen a couple of references to this setup but nothing that seems a
solid yes/no..I'm running Linux RedHat4.1 with my Quickcam on 0x378.

I've got the latest gtk libs etc and the package builds just fine.
Is the patch that David and Quido spoke of a part of 0.57 ? (The BW patch
that is)

Having SANE_DEBUG_QCAM and SANE_DEBUG_DLL at 128 gives me

I'm also using AccelX at 16 bits color depth, I haven't tried yet at 8.

Under qcam I'm also not sure if or what I should attempt to enter in the
"Device Name" dialog box..I've tried the obvious "qcam"but got a "failed
to open device '': Operation not supported" message.

xscanimage dies with

I greatly appologize for re-hashing something that is undoubtedly in the
fine documentation (somewhere) but I'm stumped.

Any assistance or tips would be greatly appreciated; David..thank you this
looks like
a beautiful piece of work if only I could get it to fire up with my poor
little black&white qcam...

Cheers
