All right, after more hacking than anticipated, sane-0.54 is finally<br>
|
|
available. It's all at:<br>

- gtk+970418-davidm.tar.gz<br>
|
|

|
If you're planning on using the graphical tools, be sure to upgrade to<br>
|
|
the latest GTK+ version. You can do this either by downloading and<br>
|
|
installing gimp-0.99.8 or you can fetch the above gtk+970418-davidm<br>
|
|
tar ball. I'd suggest to get the latter since it comes with a new<br>
|
|
widget that's needed for vectors (see below).<br>
|
|
<p>
|
|
What's new?<br>
|
|
<p>
|
|
- xscan got renamed to xscanimage, scan to scanimage (to avoid<br>
|
|
confusion due to name collisions)<br>
|
|
- SANE now compiles with pretty much any ANSI C compiler; I<br>
|
|
tested the following platforms:<br>
|
|
<p>
|
|
Digital Unix, HP-UX, Linux, Solaris<br>
|
|
<p>
|
|
- xscanimage now supports vector options (such as gamma-tables<br>
|
|
or tonemaps); it's pretty nifty, but see for yourself at:<br>
|
|
